If you are a dedicated Euphoria fan, then you’ve probably seen Cassie’s 4am skincare routine featured in Season 2. It stars Sydney Sweeney's character, Cassie, waking at 4am for a whole week applying her well thought out skincare and body regimen, all in the hopes of attracting the attention of the steamy, bad boy, Nate.
Yes, we know what you are thinking… 4 AM!? That is a very early wake up call to prep yourself for your beauty routine. But we kind of get it, we’ve all been on that boat - trying to impress your boy crush. None of us are innocent, heck, we still do it today so don’t deny it ladies, you know who you are. 😉
If you have seen it, you’ve probably thought, how many Skincare Tools does one girl need? The answer, ALL OF IT. Okay, okay, maybe not all of it, but it's really for you to decide what your skin needs. But just like Cassie, we want and need it all. I mean, you might as well cover all your basis, right?
The Tools
Facial Roller
Facial Rollers are everywhere! You’ve seen your favourite celebrities and influencers religiously using them. Most of these rollers are made from from crystal elements like: Rose Quartz, Jade, Obsidian, Amethyst and more! If you are a crystal guru, then this tool will surely be your go to.
What it does:
- Smooths fine lines + wrinkles
- Firms sagging skin
- Stimulates blood circulation
- Detoxifies
- Reduces redness + breakouts
- Brightens the complexion
Facial rollers have many benefits for the minimal amount of effort it takes to use them. But its not how you use them, it’s how consistently you use them. Like any kind of treatment, beauty or wellness, you want to use it religiously to see the best and most effective results. Honestly, its so easy to use that you can roll your face anytime and anywhere you want - in bed, on the couch, at home, at work, anywhere really, and with benefits like this, why not make it a daily routine?
Tip: Place your facial roller in your fridge overnight or for 5-10 minutes before use. This will provide you with a cooling sensation to help depuff and stimulate blood circulation in your skin. The perfect wake-me-up pick-me-up before starting your day!
Gua Shua
Just like your Facial Roller, Gua Shua’s are similar in concept: They both use crystal elements and have similar beneficial attributes. The difference being the shape and how it provides more facial contouring and definition. Gua shua’s come in a wonky heart shape, or come with teethed edges. The reason for this is so that the tool can smoothly glide over the natural contours of the face.
What it does:
- Smooths fine lines + wrinkles
- Firms sagging skin
- Stimulates blood circulation
- Detoxifies
- Reduces redness + breakouts
- Brightens the complexion
- Contours
The gua shua is considered a skin-gym tool, where you consistently work the muscles to tone and shape the face. Due to the shape and adding heavier pressure, it's perfect for releasing muscle tension, especially around the neck and décolleté area.
Tip: Make sure to use an oil or serum when using your gua shua for a smoother glide.
Ice Roller
As the name says it all, this next tool is an Ice Roller and it literally is just that. The roller uses a gel-like material that freezes over – quickly and evenly – in just 10 minutes and since it’s a much larger roller, it can also be used on the body.
Whoever came up with ice on a handle, is pure genius. They took the old ice cube trick and turned it into an easy-to-use tool that is also way cuter than a block of ice. So, what does it do? It helps to treat puffiness and redness while helping to tighten and rejuvenate the skin. You want to use this after you’ve applied all your serums and creams to help tighten your pores and lock in all the juicy goodness, plus, who doesn’t like to end their skincare regimen with a cooling massage.
The Masks
Besides skincare tools, pairing your tools with a mask is only natural. Masks are a great way to help target specific skincare concerns and to give your skin that extra boost before applying your serums and creams.
Eye Mask
Let’s not skip out on this one because let’s face it, dark hallow eyes ain’t pretty hunny and we don’t want to go out looking like the walking dead. So, let’s avoid that with an eye mask.
You can choose from two types of eye masks – fabric patches and hydrogel patches. Personally, we love our hydrogel patches because they are generally more environmentally friendly, as most are made from biodegradable material.
A little hack we love to do is placing our eye masks in the fridge. This will give you a cooling effect to help decrease puffiness and promote blood circulation – the perfect eye awakening kick start to your morning. If you really want to take things up a notch, grab your jade roller and roll around the eyes with the smaller end of your roller.
Face Mask
Since you’ve already got an eye mask going might as well include a Face Mask. We love our sheet masks – like everyone else does – because they are easy to use and do not require you to rinse, perfect for anyone with a travelling lifestyle.
Tip: While you have your face mask on, take your roller (which ever one you got) and roll your face. This is a great way to get all the wonderful ingredients in your mask to absorb better and faster into the skin, but don’t hold us on that, we are only following what our favourite beauty gurus do. I mean, it never hurt nobody so why not? Plus, it’s a great way to kill two birds with one stone if you are limited on time during your mornings.
Euphoria is making waves everywhere, from their unique eye looks to their trending fashion and hairstyles, it was only natural for us to give them a call out, and after Cassie's famous 4 AM skincare routine, a little FYI was a must.
Whether you decide to use all these tools in your skincare regimen, or not, including at least one of these tools will make a huge difference, even at 4 in the morning. So go ahead and spoil yourself babe, we aren't judging.
