This past weekend, we were beyond excited and happy to participate in the Kelowna Pride Week festivities at the Pride March and Festival! Being locally owned and operated in Kelowna BC, we wanted to engage with our fabulous community and celebrate inclusivity – a core value here at COBIA. We had a ton of fun meeting every one who visited our booth, marched in the parade and showed up to celebrate this amazing community within the Okanagan! Check out some pictures from the event below!
We gave away a ton of COBIA swag throughout the day - our first 50 booth visitors got our cute, customized tote bags filled with samples, discount cards, and extra swag! Our following 200 visitors got makeup bags (courtesy of Goldwell) also filled with samples + a discount card. We also held not one, not two, but FOUR giveaways that were just announced; we gave away a Manic Panic prize pack, two surprise beauty prize packs (that COBIA staff put together!) and a grand prize of a $150 gift card!
We also partnered with Ella Lamourequx (@kaskakween), a local celebrity in the Drag community who frequents Friends Of Dorothy, a local LGBT2Q+ lounge for their weekly Drag Brunch amongst their other events! She is a local superstar and we were beyond thrilled to work with her for Pride Week. She created an AMAZING look with some goodies we sent along as well as co-hosted an amazing giveaway with bareMinerals and Buxom on social – she also stopped by our booth at the event and mingled with those attending the event!
We hope to participate in many more events and community engagement projects now that COVID is no longer in our way! We thank the Kelowna community for showing up in full force for this amazing event, we can’t wait to see you at the next one besties! We also want to share our appreciation for the support from some of our brands including Goldwell, KMS, AG Hair, Manic Panic, bareMinerals and Buxom who provided samples, gift bags and prizes for this amazing event!
