FAQ's
The Tool
How is SteamPod 3.0 different from SteamPod 2?
SteamPod 3.0 is the result of over 5 years of development. The tool is now 37% lighter and 14% thinner, therefore more ergonomic and comfortable to use. With its integrated water tank, it can now be carried easily everywhere you go. The rotative and now much longer cord (2.5M) ensures easy waving. SteamPod 3.0 therefore now allows you to easily do waves as well as perfect straight hair looks.
Is there less steam coming out of SteamPod 3.0?
In SteamPod 3.0 the tool’s steam flow density has been optimized. It is reduced to a continuous steam flow of 0.8 g/min (vs 3.5g/min for V2), while still ensuring the same powerful performance. This is possible because it is confined to a specific and more concentrated area, now between the comb and the plates. Like this, less steam is diffused into the air, but rather concentrated on the hair. Therefore less steam is needed for the same performance as the apparent reduction in the quantity of steam does not mean that less steam reaches the hair. On the contrary, our new patented technology ensures that the steam is distributed in the most efficient way for the hair to be detangled, soft and smooth. If you look at the two versions of SteamPod, the difference is very clear to see.
Why do I need to use demineralized water? Can I use it without water?
We highly recommend that you use only demineralized water for SteamPod. Demineralized water will protect the tool best and ensure a long life since it will not clog the inside mechanism that allow the steam to flow. We do not recommend using the Steampod without the correct level of water in the tank.
How long does it take for the tool to turn on? How do I know it is ready to use?
The tool takes less than a minute to turn on. The temperature will stop blinking when it is ready to use.
What are the temperature settings?
Steampod 3.0 has 3 temperature settings: 350F (180C), 390F (200C), 410F (210C). Steampod provides better discipline at 50C lower than regular straighteners do, this means you do not need to put on maximum temperature for powerful performance. We recommend adjusting it according to hair type: 350F for finer hair, 390F for medium hair, 410F for thicker hair.
Does Steampod 3.0 turn itself off?
Steampod 3.0 switches itself to sleep mode after 30 min of inactivity.
Can Steampod be used on wet hair?
For optimum results, we recommend the hair is 100% dry before using the Steampod.
How much water can the water tank contain and how do I fill it?
The water tank in SteamPod can hold 13ml of water. We recommend that you use the help of the small bottle provided with the tool to fill it up through its small hole. Fill it until the maximum level indicated on the water tank and make sure the black silicon closure is into place. One full water tank will be enough for styling up to 192m of hair without the need to refill, that means over 1 full head of thick hair. Our testing has shown that more applications can be done with fine hair, up to 5 applications.
How to remove the comb?
Attaching / Removing / cleaning the comb: If you want to clean the comb, you can remove it by sliding it outwards. You must remove the comb when it is cold in order to avoid getting burnt. The comb can be cleaned in soapy water. Check that the comb is dry before fitting it back in the straightener.
Can I use SteamPod for short hair?
Yes, the Steampod can be used on all hair types, preferably the hair should fit comfortably within the width of the plates.
Does steampod work on all hair types?
Yes, it can be used on all hair types.
Does hair colour fade using Steampod 3.0 vs a regular straightener?
Colour fading is reduced vs a regular tool (Instrumental test vs regular straightener after 15 uses) due to the steam hydrating hair fiber. That being said, hair colour is still subject to fading whenever exposed to heat.
Should I pass multiple times over the hair fiber?
Steampod provides powerful results with one pass; we recommend always gliding slowly over the tool. This will mean that one or two passages of the tool will be enough.

What is the best way to straighten the hair?
To get the most out of SteamPod 3.0 we recommend that you follow these instructions. Use SteamPod on small strands of hair and start closely from the roots, making sure that the arrows on the outside of the tool are facing downwards. This means that the comb inside the tool will be at the bottom, going through the hair before the steam and the plates. This is important so the hair is pre-detangled and the steam surrounds the fiber before the heated plates are used. Start to gently glide the tool down along the hair. Always go slowly, as this will mean that one or two passages of the tool will be enough. We recommend that you follow the SteamPod routine with the products for maximum shine, long-lastingness and anti-frizz protection.
Is SteamPod too wide to straighten the roots?
Not at all. In order to perfectly straighten even unruly roots, the key is to take small strands of hair. This way you will be able to reach the roots.
How can I do waves with SteamPod 3.0?
Doing waves with SteamPod 3.0 is very easy. Place a thin strand in the middle of the plates and wrap it around the tool. Then rotate the tool (arrows on the tool pointing to the tips of your hair) while slowly gliding downwards. Let the waves cool off for a few minutes before either shaking or brushing them for a natural-looking result. To finish, you can use a bit of SteamPod Serum on the ends for extra shine and softness.
What is the SteamPod 3.0 full routine?
For healthy, shiny and frizz-free looks we recommend that you follow the SteamPod routine. Start by applying a small quantity of the Cream or Milk (depending on hair type) to the damp lengths and ends of your hair. Proceed to brushing/blow-drying as usual. Style with SteamPod on dry hair: your hair will have an extra heat protection from using the steam-activated products, and will be soft and shiny. Finish by applying the serum on your hair ends, one pump of the product will protect them from becoming frizzy and ensure the long-lastingness of your hair look.
Can I use the serum on damp hair?
For an extra layer of protection, 1-2 drops of the serum can be mixed with the SteamPod cream or milk (depending on hair type) before being applied to the hair. However, always ensure your hair is dry before using SteamPod.
