Black Widow

Image: metaflix.com

Let’s be honest, Natasha from The Avengers has always been iconic. The release of her leading role in “Black Widow” earlier this year proved once again, her bad a** status to the world. There may be no better time to rock her look than this year's Halloween.

How to:

The Costume

You can find your Black Widow bodysuit costume on amazon for less than $45, but you might want to hurry as these babies are going quick... and we can see why.

The Hair

To achieve Black Window’s hairstyle, pick up Manic Panic - Dye Hard Colored Styling Gel in the shade “Vampire Red'' and “Electric Lava” and mix to create her classic auburn colour. This coloured gel can be used to lock in Natasha’s iconic braided hairstyles or can be used as a hair chalk by letting it dry and combing it out. Don’t worry! It’s only temporary, it’ll wash right out once you’re ready to return to your true identity.

The Makeup

Lucky for you, Black Widow’s makeup is consistently simple, but we get it, who has time for a full-on glam session when you’re off saving the world?

Go for a skin-focused, natural, dewy look with a BB Cream, paired with a soft, nude-toned eyeshadow. Pop some mascara onto your top and bottom lashes and you’re good to go!

Cruella De Vil

Cruella De Vil is an iconic antagonist that we’ve all grown up watching in Disney’s famous, 101 Dalmations and with this year’s movie release of Cruella - Cruella De Vil’s will famously be roaming around this Halloween. Her iconic half black, half white hairstyle as well as her amazing fashion has transcended into a very real trend for her bold, edgy look. May as well hop on the bandwagon for just one spooky night of the year!

How to:

The Costume

There may be a chance you already own this costume’s main components! A simple black dress and boujee, white, fur jacket (faux we hope) screams classic Cruella. Finish your look with her iconic long, red gloves!

You can find Cruella De Vil costumes  on Amazon from prices between $40-$80. As for her gloves, those can be easily found at your local Halloween shop or thrift store.

The Hair

Toss the scrubby wig and go for Manic Panic’s Dye Hard Colored Styling Gel in Virgin White & Raven Black to create an authentic split black and white temporary doo. Who knows… afterwards, you may even be tempted to fully commit to the trendy look.

The Makeup

Cruella is known for her overly arched, dark brows, bold red lips, and pale complexion. She truly exudes spooky, vintage, Hollywood glam. Skip the bronzer for this look and reach for your brow pencil, and find your boldest red lipstick like 100% Pure’s Poppy Red Lipstick. To glam it up even more, go for a cool-toned smokey eye under a white cut crease to really bring your inner Cruella out!

Wednesday Addams

Wednesday Addams from the 1991 Addams Family film has clearly proved herself to remain a long-lasting fan favourite. Known for her subtle, sinister, and emotionless demeanor, Wednesday Addams continues to be a classic Halloween costume year after year. Talk about a memorable impression or can we say... Halloween icon?

How to:

The Costume

We are talking button-up, vintage, sharply collared dresses. Black only - of course. Visit your local vintage thrift stores to hunt down the most authentic look. No luck thrifting? Find the classic costume on amazon for around $50.

The Hair

Wednesday’s classic bold black locks, center part and double braids, are undeniably a staple piece for recreating her look. If by chance, your hair colour happens to slightly differ from Wednesday’s dusky black tone - pick up Manic Panic’s Dye Hard Colored Styling Gel in the shade Raven Black for an easy washout, one-night masterpiece. Add some molding cream or smoothing cream to maintain tight, frizz-free braids all night long.

The Makeup

If you know anything about the Addams family, you know the whole clan sports a ghostly pale complexion. Reach for a foundation at least 2 shades lighter than your natural shade and go for a cool/grey toned contour.

As for the eyes, a coat of mascara and some white eyeliner on your waterline will more than suffice for Wednesday’s doll face gaze.

Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn has undeniably stolen the hearts of millions since her first debut back in 2016. She’s girly, hardcore, rebellious and compassionate. A role model to some if you will - minus the excessive killing, of course.

How to:

The Costume

As we know, Harley Quinn is known for her bold and colourful appearance, making her look one of the more challenging DIY costumes. Luckily, you can find the whole fit at Spirit Halloween for around $50!

The Hair

Much like her outfits, Harley’s hairdo is vibrant. She’s consistently seen sporting bleach blonde roots and mismatching pink and blue pigtails. Seems daunting, we know - but you can achieve her look easily with Manic Panic’s Dye Hard Coloured Styling Gel in the shades Virgin White, Electric Flamingo and Electric Sky!

The Makeup

Now this is a fun one. Obviously, Harley Quinn’s makeup must always match her hair, so don’t forget to pick up some blue and pink eyeshadow!

Apply blue on your eyes adjacent from your blue pigtail and vice versa for pink. Play around with her eye look and remember it doesn’t need to be perfect as Harley is known for her chaotic, woman in distressed look.

As for the skin, looking ghostly pale is basically the goal… think “clown-vibes”. Complete the look by using black, liquid eyeliner to draw a small heart on your cheekbone, throw on some vibrant red lipstick and you’re good as gold!

Halloween is slowly spooking up on us, so make sure you have your costume game on point this year! Whether you decide to rock your inner Cruella or Wednesday Addams, you will surely be turning heads this Halloween.
